Harbor freight tools

I started my work at Harbor Freight Tools, who opens new stores every 4 days throughout United States as a project manager for their e-commerce division. At the time they did not have a mobile version of the website and simply rendered their full desktop view on mobile devices. This is the project I took ownership over and spearheaded while still managing key projects like store finder, SEO improvements and many other key optimizations throughout the online store front to support the business initiatives practices at over 400 existing at the time locations. Working together with a third party development team, I prepared wires and did all of the UX work on this project. Out goal was to quickly and effectively launch a responsive design of the existing e-commerce website for mobile devices before the holidays season. I was successful on both fronts as well as proved how important store finder would ultimately become to the 800+ stores they are today.

Tools used: Adobe Photoshop, Balsamiq Mockups 2, Basecamp, JIRA, Magento

website

As a project manager for the e-commerce department it was my responsibility to gather all of the technical requirements for any project our team of developers and designers took on. I successfully executed redesigning the homepage, the footer section, category pages, product pages with numerous of cross-sell features, customer service pages that allowed a full self service experience for our customers and finally the store locator project that opened up an opportunity to take on the responsive web project for mobile platforms.

Responsive web apps

As the holiday season was approaching I took on the responsibility to integrate our new store locator feature for our mobile users, since the existing experience was a full desktop website on mobile. Being a primary UX person and project manager for the external development team was my responsibility, where I focused on creating a simplified yet familiar layout with easy to navigate features of the existing website our users were already used to. Making sure all fo the webpages we have today properly rendered and most importantly that the store locator was in prime focus was what I was tasked with delivering in a very short period of time.
